Terra 116 chair width: 21.5" between armrests

About 21.5" between the armrests on the Terra 116 — wider than a typical office chair. The same Horizon Pro Seat is used across the entire Cajo rigid lineup.

About 21.5" between the armrests on the Terra 116 — wider than a typical office chair. The same Horizon Pro Seat is used across the Cajo rigid lineup, so this number applies to the Outpost 100 and Outpost 128 too.

Why this matters

Kayak fishing seats are notorious for being narrow. Most production sit-on-top seats run 17–19" wide between the armrests, which is fine for an average adult but uncomfortable for a bigger angler trying to spend eight hours on the water with a PFD, layered clothing, and a tackle vest.

21.5" gives you genuine room. For reference:

  • A standard office chair is typically 18–20" wide between the arms
  • A typical kayak fishing seat is 17–19" wide
  • The Horizon Pro Seat on every Cajo rigid is 21.5"

That extra 2–4" is the difference between feeling pinched and feeling at home.

What this means for big-and-tall anglers

If you're at the bigger end of the angler spectrum — say a 6'4", 260 lb angler in cold-weather layers — the seat width is one of the practical reasons the Cajo lineup fits when other kayaks don't.

Pair the 21.5" chair width with:

  • 24" of seat slide (room for long legs)
  • 500 lbs of usable capacity on the Outpost 128 (room for you plus rigging)
  • A 21" wide x 17" deep seat base (room to actually sit, not perch)

…and you've got a boat that genuinely works for bigger anglers.

A few notes on fit

  • The 21.5" measurement is between the armrests at the front of the seat. The back of the seat is slightly wider.
  • The armrests are not adjustable side-to-side; they're built into the seat shell.
  • The Horizon Pro Seat is the same seat across all three rigid models. The Highlander AirTrek uses the same general design adapted for the inflatable platform.
