Height range Cajo kayaks accommodate
With the Traverse Pedal Drive, comfortable use spans 4'6" to 7' tall. With a fin drive (Hobie MD 180 etc.), the range opens up to roughly 4' to 7.5' because fin drives add their own shaft-length adjustability.

How Cajo got to this range
Two pieces working together:
- The Horizon Pro Seat track gives you about 24 inches of forward-to-back seat travel. That's well above the industry norm (most fixed kayak seats offer 6–12").
- The drive itself either has fixed pedals (Traverse) or shaft-adjustable pedals (Hobie MD 180 and other fin drives).
With the Traverse, the seat slide alone covers the 4'6" to 7' range. With a fin drive, the shaft adjustability adds roughly another 12" of effective leg-length range, so the boat fits paddlers as short as 4' and as tall as 7.5'.
Where you'll sit in the track at different heights
- 4'6"–5'2": seat slid forward
- 5'3"–5'10": front to middle of the track
- 5'11"–6'4": middle to back
- 6'5"–7': seat slid all the way back, full leg extension
The seat clips in and out of the track in seconds, so dialing it in once at the put-in is quick.
If you're at the extremes
Shorter than 4'6" — the Traverse may have pedals that feel a touch too far even with the seat all the way forward. A fin drive setup is a better fit; the Hobie MD 180 has enough shaft adjustability to bring the pedals closer.
Taller than 7' — the Traverse fits up to 7' with the seat all the way back. Past that, a fin drive opens up another half-foot of comfortable range.
Mixed-height household — the seat slides easily and the track has clear position marks. Two paddlers of different heights can swap and re-set without rerouting cables or pulling tools.
The Highlander AirTrek question
The Highlander has the same ergonomics ceiling but a slightly different floor. The published minimum for the Highlander AirTrek pedal drive is 4'6", since the inflatable's deck-to-seat geometry doesn't quite match the rigid line below that height.
