What fits in 3.75 inches
This is the open well behind the seat — the spot for a milk crate, a soft cooler, a Plano box, or a tackle bag. 3.75" is the depth from the deck floor of the well to the gunwale rim.
Practical examples:
- Standard milk crate (13" tall) — sticks well above the gunwale, but secured with bungee cords to the gear tracks it rides fine
- Soft cooler (12–13" tall) — same story, ride it strapped down
- Low-profile Plano 3700 box — fits with the lid below the gunwale on its side
- YakAttack BlackPak Pro 12" or 14" — the Pro 12" sits with the top a few inches above the gunwale, secured to the gear tracks
The tank well isn't intended as a self-contained dry storage compartment — it's an open deck space designed to hold the gear you want quick access to. Most anglers run a crate or BlackPak with rod holders, tackle storage, and quick-grab tools.
How it compares to the Outpost 128
The Outpost 128 has more deck area and accommodates more elaborate rear-deck rigging. If you're planning a deep cooler-and-crate setup, the 128 has more vertical and horizontal room to work with. The Outpost 100's tank well is sized for solo-day fishing loads and runs lighter overall.
Securing your gear
The rear deck has gear tracks on both sides — that's where your bungees, straps, or YakAttack mounting hardware anchors. Don't trust loose milk crates on chop. A 30-second strap-down keeps everything in the boat when you hit wakes or surf.
