Cajo Quad Rails: Vibe Shearwater fit
Yes — the Quad Rails fit the Vibe Shearwater. The Horizon Pro Seat and Pro Seat Perch (with rails) also fit the Shearwater.
Yes — the Cajo Quad Rails fit the Vibe Shearwater. So do the Horizon Pro Seat and the Pro Seat Perch (with rails) — Shearwater is one of the cleanest non-Cajo fits in the Cajo accessory lineup.
Why the Shearwater is the cleanest fit
The Shearwater's deck layout and gear-track positioning are close enough to Cajo's rigid hulls that the Quad Rails sit on the existing track footprint without modification. Same mounting hardware, same install steps.
This is unusual — most non-Cajo kayaks need at least a small adapter, custom hole, or shim to accept Quad Rails. The Shearwater doesn't.
Length choice on a Shearwater
All four Quad Rail lengths fit:
- 12" — short-run for throttle/electronics next to the seat
- 26" — common for a captain's bridge (28" max install width with bases at the ends)
- 32" — longer captain's bridge (34" max install width)
- 44" — spans the full mounting span on a Cajo rigid hull
Measure your install width on the Shearwater before you pick. The bases extend 1" beyond each rail end, so a 26" rail goes up to 28" outside-to-outside when the bases sit at the end.
Other Cajo accessories that fit the Shearwater
While we're on the topic:
- Horizon Pro Seat — confirmed fit on the Shearwater
- Pro Seat Perch (with rails) — confirmed fit
- Horizon Elevated Seat Perch — confirmed (any Vibe with Hero 2.0 seat platform)
That makes the Shearwater the Vibe hull most cross-compatible with Cajo gear.
Accessory brands you can run on the rails
Once the Quad Rails are on, they accept the usual lineup of track accessories: YakAttack, YakGear, Railblaza, Scotty, RAM, and most other brands you'd buy at a kayak fishing shop.
