Why a spare prop is worth having
The Traverse Pedal Drive prop is the highest-wear part on the drive. Two situations where a spare matters:
- You hit a stump or rock mid-trip and the prop blade gets dinged. A bent or chipped prop loses thrust and starts vibrating the drive — finishable for the day, but the drive isn't happy. Having a spare in the tackle box means you swap on the water and keep fishing.
- You're on a multi-day trip and want a backup. Especially if you're far from a dealer, having one spare in the truck means a damaged prop doesn't end the trip.
The prop is a quick swap — pop the prop pin, slide off the damaged prop, slide on the spare, replace the pin. A couple minutes with the drive out of the water.
NOT in the Cajo Spare Parts Kit
For clarity: the Cajo Spare Parts Kit does NOT include a spare prop. The kit is hardware and small parts for the rigid hulls (drain plug components, mount hardware, gaskets, etc.). For Traverse Drive parts — prop, prop pin, cables — you go through support specifically.
Warranty cases are different
If your prop arrives damaged or your prop has a defect (e.g., manufacturing issue with the prop blade), that's a warranty case, not a paid spare-part purchase. Submit a claim at caminojourney.com/pages/claims-form with a photo and we'll send a replacement free. The $29.99 invoice flow is for paid backup props, not warranty replacements.
