Assembly walkthrough (5 steps)

Step 1 — Align support brackets

Align the Horizon Perch support bracket holes with the mounting holes on the seat frame.

Step 2 — Bolt brackets to seat frame

Secure the Horizon Perch support brackets to the seat frame using the provided bolts (part A, ×4) and nuts (part B, ×4). Ensure the nut is properly seated in the support bracket before tightening.

Step 3 — Unfold the legs

The legs are foldable and can be stored in the designated slots. Before installing the Horizon Perch, unfold the legs.

  • To expand: Lift the legs upward to a vertical position, then press firmly until you hear a "click" sound, indicating the legs are securely locked in place.
  • To fold: Pull the legs upward firmly until you hear a "click" sound, then lower them into the designated storage slots.

Step 4 — Mount the Perch

To mount the Horizon Perch, open the securing latch on the support brackets. Seat the perch legs in the brackets, then close the securing latches.

The Horizon Perch is removable and can be used as a step stool or camping table off the kayak.

Step 5 — Lock in place

After installing the perch, ensure the support brackets are firmly tightened. Close and lock the securing latches.

Perch gear tracks

The Horizon Perch features T-slot gear tracks on all 4 sides for mounting accessories — Cajo steering handle mount, rod holders, camera arms, and any standard T-bolt accessory.

Off-the-kayak uses

When the boat's not on the water, the Horizon Perch removes cleanly and works as:

  • Step stool — for loading the kayak onto a trailer or roof rack
  • Camp table — at the bank, the cabin, or in the truck bed
  • Standing platform — for casting practice or fly-tying
